By Hand or Machine: Arts and Crafts Influence at the Home and Studio

Experience the beautiful spaces of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Home and Studio to investigate the impact of the Arts and Crafts movement on Wright’s interior design.  Led by Assistant Curator Brian Reis, participants explore the Home and Studio with an eye toward the objects designed to enhance the spaces, and then gather in the historic drafting room for a glass of wine and an illustrated discussion of Wright’s ideas about the art and craft of the machine.  This event is held as a complement to the Art Institute of Chicago’s exhibit Apostles of Beauty: Arts and Crafts from Britain to Chicago, running from November 7, 2009 – January 31, 2010.
