With its gravity-defying overhangs, open floor plan and bands of art glass, the Robie House (1908-10) sparked a revolution in residential architecture whose influence still reverberates today. The first building to be awarded Landmark status by the City of Chicago, the Robie House is both a masterpiece of the Prairie styleand an icon of modern architecture. A historic restoration is returning the building to its original splendor.
